Doll's House

Isn't this dollhouse cute? I like all the do-it-yourself ideas and the peg wooden dolls. Has anybody seen the booklet that seems to have been offered about the Doll's House?

I was 13 years old in July 1961 when the Little Doll house article appeared in that issue of Good Housekeeping magazine. At that time I ordered the instruction booklet but did not have the know how to make it, but never gave up hope in doing so. I lost the instruction booklet, but in 1968, I decided to make it using only the magazine information. The project took me almost 10 years to complete, as it was difficult to find some of the materials. My little house is very similar and my furnishings are almost identical to those in the photos I am now 65 and still have my adorably fanciful little house it looks just as it always has. I love it and never tire of looking at it. I was thrilled to see the article appear on your site. I would love to know if anyone else has made it

Gloria, do you have a blog where you have posted pictures of your version of the dollhouse. I would love to see it! I got the article when my mom cleared out a bunch of things. She never made it for us--there were three of us girls but I love the idea of her saving it all these years. There used to be such creative things in the ladies magazines.
