Spring Break

A little spring break going on around here.
Sorry to have been gone without saying why.
Be back soon.
PS: the illustration above is by Harrison Cady. He wrote and/or illustrated a whole bunch of books. I love his little animals all dressed in their finery.
HERE is a link to a book he illustrated.
(forgive me if I have linked to it before) {;-)

Ta Da!

The forsythia are putting on a show!
It has been so warm here and that has brought out the lovely blossoms.
Hope you are enjoying your weekend.

Spring Sweater

I've sort of jumped the gun here by knitting up the little sweater that goes with the March issue of Mollie Makes mice, which grace the cover.
I love mini doll clothes but they are so fiddley to make sometimes.
This pattern was very easy.
The pattern for the sweater can be found HERE.
I changed the bottom edge of the sweater to make a wee ribbing.

Daylight

Little iris bulbs in the sunshine!
Gorgeous blue-purple and yellow throat!
My favorite weekend of the year is coming!
I love daylight savings weekend in the spring.
I can't help but be excited to have more daylight at the end of the day.
There will be time for a walks around town admiring all the erupting bulbs.

Lemon Curd

I have finally made lemon curd!
It is something I have collected recipes for and never followed through with making it.
It turned out all lovely and curded. :-)
It has the freshest of lemon tastes.
Some of my family doesn't care for the tartness of lemon
--I don't understand this--:-)
but Em helped me make a few strawberry jam tarts as well.
The lemon curd recipe I used is from the Glorious Treats Blog-HERE.
The teeny tiny tart shells are made in France for Clearbrook Farms-HERE.
The shells are a bit pricey on the website--yikes.
I bought them locally and not such a high price.
